The City of Oshkosh Mayor and City Council met for regular session on April 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
In compliance with the Open Meetings Act of Nebraska, a current copy of the act is posted in the council chambers. Notice of this meeting was posted at City Hall, Garden County Courthouse, and Post Office. The agenda for this meeting was kept current and available for inspection at the office of the City Clerk.
Mayor Levick called the meeting to order and read the Open Meetings Act, LB 898.
Present were: Mayor, Jim Levick and Council Members: David Cook, Gary DeCock, and Terry Davis. Absent: Sarena Assmann. Also attending: Attorney, Mary Kay Robinson-Boone, Administrator, Bill Campbell, and City Clerk, LeAnn Brown.
Motion made by Cook, seconded by DeCock, to approve the agenda, approve the minutes of the previous meeting and to waive the reading thereof. Voting Yea: Cook, DeCock, and Davis. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by DeCock, seconded by Cook, to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Cook, seconded by DeCock, to approve the following bills. Motion carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS:
Deputy Sheriff Hernandez handed out the March Sheriff’s Report.
Carol Lake came before the Mayor and Council to discuss the removal and charges of a tree at 208 West Ave B. After some discussion it was determined the charge needed to be sent to the current property owner(s).
Motion by Davis, seconded by Cook, to approve a Special Designated Liquor Application to Garden County FOE, Aerie #4283 for a wedding reception on May 6, 2917 at the City Auditorium. Motion carried unanimously.
The Animal Control Officer Report was made available from Scotty Ray.
A discussion was held on a letter received from Ruth Hamilton about a delinquent trash bill that was assessed against her property. A motion made by DeCock, seconded by Cook, to forgive the delinquent amount for customer number 2986 and parcel number 350026157. Motion carried unanimously.
