City of Oshkosh City Council Minutes January 13, 2022
The City of Oshkosh Council met for regular session January 13, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.
In compliance with the Open Meetings Act of Nebraska, a current copy of the act is posted in the Council Chambers. Notice of this meeting was advertised in the Garden County News and posted at the Oshkosh Post Office, City Hall and Courthouse. The agenda for this meeting was kept current and available for inspection at City Hall.
Mayor Davis called the meeting to order and read the Open Meetings Act, LV 898.
Present: Mayor, Terry Davis and Council Members: Gary DeCock, Mike Piva, Cole Birkel, George Zoucha. Also attending: Administrator, Bill Campbell, Attorney, Mary Kay Robinson-Boone, City Clerk, LeAnn Brown.
Motion by Piva, seconded by DeCock, to approve the agenda, approve the minutes of the previous meeting and to waive the reading thereof. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by DeCock, seconded by Zoucha, to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by DeCock, seconded by Piva to approve the following bills. Motion carried unanimously. Salaries-15,824.63, IRS-4343.81-Taxes, NE Dept. of Revenue-2,476.60-Taxes, Alter Recycling-193.50-Baling Wire, Ameriprise Financial-1,517.30-Retirement, Bank of America-1,244.76-Postage, & Misc. Expenses, Black Hills-410.90-Heat, Blue Cross Blue Shield-6,333.82-Ins., Burnco-3430.20-Clay & Dirt, Bytes-66.00-Backup & Support, Century Link-176.33-Phone, Eagle Auto-6.60-Repairs, Enviro Service-25.00-Water Testing, Garden Co. OLD BUSINESS:
Adam Sickler, VOA President, came before the council to see if the VOA could secure 15% of the ARPA funds for VOA projects. No action taken.
NEW BUSINESS:
Sheriff Ross presented the December Sheriff’s Report.
The Animal Control Report was reviewed.
Motion by Piva, seconded by DeCock, to approve the Economic Development Advisory Committees’ recommendations to defer Ranch Daisies’ loan payment for six months and continue Panhandle Tech’s existing payments for another six months. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Birkel, seconded by DeCock, to approve a Livestock Permit for Sarena Assmann at 401 East Ave I, for two ponies. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Davis made a Proclamation that January is Radon Action Month.
Motion by Piva, seconded by Birkel, to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
